As a proud Maryland institution, National Lumber has been serving the Baltimore area for a century. In honor of celebrating our 100 year anniversary this year, we like to look back at our roots, starting with Alexander Fruman’s emigration to Baltimore in 1917, followed by the store opening in 1919 near the Little Italy neighborhood. To find out more about how we became a staple in the Baltimore community, take a look at Baltimore Heritage’s article on National Lumber by Richard Messick. The full article can be accessed here.
